Yikes. So brutal.
We need a dealership in Vegas!
Whoa, they were doing over 150mph on a public road. That speeding ticket when combined with the street racing ticket would make for a bad day.
Anyway, the 720s simply blew away that lump of a Lambo.
wow...the itailian/german left for dead!!
Brooks, are you just racing or are you data recording both vehicles?
I would love to see it. I think there's a 99.9% chance he's got it.
McLaren is six years old as a consumer car manufacturer, and they've just set the bar with the 720s. Quite an accomplishment.
I have data on both, what are you looking for?
I just get curious as to the various accelerations is all. Now sure if you can share the data or just post up the 0-60/100/120/150 times or whatever is easier. If not it's cool too the videos are great.
The 720s has over 100hp more and weighs almost 400lbs less than the Huracan-of course it destroyed it...no surprise here. Shame about the Mcl's styling, although I'm not a huge fan of the lambo's styling either.
sure, best numbers so far:
0-60 MPH: 2.57
0-100 MPH: 5.89
60-130 MPH: 7.4
10.4 @ 132 MPH
0-60 MPH: 2.67
0-100 MPH 5.3
60-130 MPH: 5.4
10.1 @ 140 MPH
I expect the 720S to go 9.9 @ 144 MPH with better weather...
Awesome stuff. Can't wait to see you put the 720 against a 918. Hopefully the 918 driver will record data and share with you. And hopefully they can drive like you can!
AWD of the Lambo, despite the less hp and extra weight, wins the day to 60 mph;after that, its all 720s. No surprise there. these 2wd cars are more traction limited than anything else.
cool if youre into drag racing.
Other relevant data is laptimes with a performante and 720 particularily the laptime on say lap 5.
I doubt 720s is a slouch on the track...
Brooks be safe during the Hurricane. Same goes for all other members in SoFla
thanks, looks like the storm is shifting west, we'll be ok, but west coast looks to be in bad shape now...
Not knowing but I'd assume Mclaren has a better track potential considering its racing history vs Lambo.
I like the "bubble top" look of the Mclaren much better. The Lambo now looks long in the tooth.
I had a Huracan, and it hooked up hard. I don’t use databoxes because I usually don’t have one with me during “mutual curiousity excursions”.
650S was as expected faster once rolling prob sl.above 80. 60-130 similar.
720 is really fast. I agree there’s more in it, weather that day was suboptimal.
I had several runs that were consistent with numbers and vids around. Ran a 488 B from 30mph roll. Exact result of Huracan, prob a bit more car lengths.
The run I enjoyed happened and I didn’t know it. A neighborhood Tesla p90-100 whatever was behind me at light turning on to 2 lane undeveloped access road about a mile long. Few cars, one was friend who hand them seen car yet. Still hasn’t. I pinned it once straight. The Tesla evidently did too. Never saw him until loser flyby up a ramp and I slowed for turnaround. Guess I had 7-8 carlengths maybe more. Figure I had a pole start advantage of 1 sec? Plus a car length onto access road.
All these golf cart guys are hysterical trying to outdrag people and be green. I looked at one, and driven as I drive, 100++ , I’d have to recharge at least once between largest cities here. My E63S wagon suffices for that and I get 21.4-6
We have to get some of these smug guys out and get numbers. No roadcourses though. 6k# prob cracks surfaces
Well yeah, that's the whole point. As far as the styling goes, of course it's subjective but I think the McLaren looks fantastic. It makes the Huracan look look like a utilitarian
The 1/2 mile video showing the car equaling the Veyron/918 is amazing. What a rocket. And I would think it much more fun on a road course than either of those.
Must be me, but I just find these cars to be really ugly. I guess I am getting old.
